Meet Kyla Kay, founding director of Imagine This. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Kyla has performed her way through a successful career in musical theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes as a choreographer. Now based in Vancouver, she’s excited to bring her expertise to Imagine This, working alongside Lannette to create a vibrant space where every child can shine. With a passion for storytelling and a deep love for the arts, Kyla is committed to making each class a magical experience.

Meet Lannette New, founding director of Imagine This, and proud Port Moody local. From early song & dance recitals and piano lessons to a lively career in film and on Vancouver’s musical theatre stages, she is a seasoned performer who truly knows how to enchant an audience. After a detour from the stage to focus on her family, she returned to the spotlight with renewed energy and passion. She is thrilled to be building Imagine This with Kyla, bringing their shared dreams to life and ensuring every star shines brightly! With a passion for performance and precision, Lannette orchestrates the daily operations to ensure everything runs in perfect harmony.

Welcome Abbie Jenkins, a Vancouver-based actress and assistant director originally from England. She discovered her passion for theatre at 15 and has since transitioned from stage to screen, working in both acting and directing. Before moving to North America, she taught drama and musical theatre through the YMCA, helping disadvantaged youth find a creative outlet. Now 31, Abbie has contributed to numerous film and theatre projects and brings a deep love for storytelling to her work. She is thrilled to share her experience and passion with Imagine This!

Say hello to the wonderful Amanda Spinosa who is excited to be part of the Imagine This team as an Instructor. A lover of the performing arts since day one, she graduated from the Musical Theatre program at Cap U in 2018 and has since taught many group classes and private lessons in musical theatre, acting, media training, voiceover, and, of course, singing! Amanda is looking forward to sharing her passion for the performing arts and helping each student find their unique voice.

Meet Jessi — a performing artist, educator, songwriter, and certified BC teacher with over 30 years of experience in musical theatre, voice, drama, and dance. She’s worked with learners of all ages across Western Canada and currently teaches music in a local school district. Passionate about early childhood development, Jessi believes creativity builds confidence, resilience, and communication skills. Her past productions include The Lion King, Annie, Alice in Wonderland, A Chorus Line, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood.

Say hello to the fabulous Kate MacColl, whose decades-long career spans arranging, composing, performing, recording, and teaching in both public and private schools. She has taught songwriting at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music and musical theatre at Arts Umbrella, and sang with Elektra Women’s Choir for 12 seasons. Her theatre credits include performing, directing, and music directing for Play On Words, APPLAUSE!, TUTS, Royal City, and more. In 2010, her original score for The Body was licensed for a UK festival honoring Nick Darke. Say hello to Stefie! An AMDA NYC grad with a Bachelor in Contemporary Music Composition, she also holds a Level 4 Diploma in Performing Arts & Teaching (Rock School of London). She’s studied ballet with the Royal Academy of Dance, Shakespeare with John Basil, and has over 15 years of experience teaching musical theatre, directing shows like Little Women, Seussical, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Favourite performance credits include West Side Story, We Will Rock You, and Air of Paris.
